Harry Man has been trusted by a wide range of organizations and
individuals to craft poetry for diverse projects
across digital and print media. Harry Man’s work has been commissioned
by publishers, literary organisations, national and international
events, conferences, art galleries, libraries, and festivals.
This includes both original poems, translations, murals,
scripts for theatre and radio and medium and large scale text-based installations.
Known for pushing the boundaries of poetic expression, Harry has
worked closely with visual artists, engineers, musicians, designers and photographers to
produce work that resonates deeply with audiences.

Teaching
Harry Man has taught in a variety of both community,
organisational and academic settings, including running workshops
for The Poetry School, The Wordsworth Trust, New Writing North, HarperCollins Publishers and The
Wildlife Trust. As well as teaching on the Masters in Creative Writing at the University of Oxford, Harry Man has a CPD in Teaching Creative Writing from Manchester Metropolitan University and he is a qualified Discover and Explore Arts Award Adviser. He is also a professional member of the National Association of Writers in Education.
Mentoring
Harry offers consultancy, tutoring and bespoke mentoring,
including mentoring for DYCP applicants and recipients. Mentorship
takes place over 12 months and is via application only and spaces

Workshops
Design, delivery and evaluation of writing workshops and
masterclasses for your organisation, school or library are
available. To ensure the best possible experience for
participants, the maximum capacity for an individual workshop

Writer in Residence
A writer in residence position can provide your organisation with workshops and outreach work, improving wellbeing, creativity, skills and organisational culture. It additionally provides space, professional support and income for individual writers. Previous clients include NHS England, The Middlesbrough Institute for Modern Art, Guildford High School and The Wordsworth Trust. Where can I learn to write poetry?
Reading poetry widely and deeply is the best place to start. Both
The Poetry School
and
The Poetry Society
run accessible workshops designed for a range of styles and
abilities. Subscribing to literary journals and
poetry magazines offer the best start.
I write just for fun, is mentoring for me? / Can I send in my work for free feedback?
Mentorships are by application only and slots are limited. In the interests of championing traditionally marginialised voices and creating a sustainable future for literature, applications are accepted only from writers with an active interest in both reading contemporary literature and writing for publication.

I have never commissioned a writer before, how do I do this?
Professional writers have a busy schedule that is often working 12-18 months ahead of time, so it is helpful to have an audience, a lead time and a budget in mind when making your approach. If in doubt, consult
